- To learn how it works, please click on this presentation in a flip book format The Themes:
- Learning for Sustainability
- Sustainability: A new culture and methodology with a “people & planet care” attitude (Hållbarhet: En ny kultur och metodik med ”folk och jorden i omtanke – ett nytt förhållningssätt och en ny attityd”)
- Greening education, research & entrepreneurship for sustainable development (Öppen Skola för utbildning, forskning & entreprenöriella hållbarhets rörelse).
OPEN SCHOOLING FOR PARTICIPANTS:
- Open Schooling develops young students’ skills and competence needed for the global challenges we face in the 21st century.
- It offers innovative ways for improving learning and can play an important role in local communities.
- Actually the idea (Open Schooling) is to involve external partners or take the students with you outside the classroom.
- Open Schooling can be tailored to support you in working with the curriculum in a new way that improves student engagement and thereby initiates and deepens the participants’ or school’s relationship with the society.
- Whatever form it takes, at the heart of open schooling is a mindset and culture that is collaborative.
- Open Schooling is all about learning together in the real world.
- It’s a method where purposeful cooperation between school/educational institute and society at large is built up.
- Open Schooling engage families, the local government, municipality or other stakeholders and even inter-governmental organisations collaborate with teachers and students to address relevant local challenges, contribute to community development and thereby promote active global citizenship.
- Open Schooling gives students the opportunity to learn together in the real world and learn from people other than their school teachers.
OPEN SCHOOLING FOR EDUCATORS – CPD:
- A lack of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities is preventing teachers and educators from reaching their full potential.
- CPD – tailored to career goals and current responsibilities – is essential to a successful performance management strategy. CPD activities engage employees by honing their skills, create a more loyal and long-lasting learning workforce, and instil a desire for career development.
